Chuck Bates is Bates Design’s Creative Director and co-founding partner. With nearly three decades of design experience, Chuck has developed strategic design and marketing communications solutions for brands from medical and industrial manufacturing, to vacation travel and business services. He is an avid photographer, and shoots much of the product and location photography for his design inspirations. Chuck holds Foundation Certification from Parson’s School of Design, New York, and a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia Lamar Dodd School of Art, as well as studying design and sculpture in Cortona, Italy.
Suzanne Bates is co-founding partner of Bates Design, where she serves as Art Director and Designer. Suzanne’s early design experience began as a corporate communications Art Director in Atlanta. During her 25+ years with Bates Design she has created countless identities, web sites, brochures and editorial designs for a wide range of clients. She is inspired by local nature, folk patterns, and her three sons, and dabbles in the art of egg-tempra painting in her spare time. Suzanne received a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia, Lamar Dodd School of Art, and also studied art and design in Cortona, Italy.
